First things First
Never underestimate the importance of a good warm up! Doesn't matter if you are hitting the dance floor, the weight room, or the running trails. Always make sure to spend time warming up your joints, tissues and muscles in order to prevent injury and move more effectively.
The following sequence is a great set of movements used to warm up the body. Next time you are ready to get your sweat on.. give yourself a few extra minutes, roll out your mat, and give these a try!
- Hip circles in both directions
- Bird/dog both sides
- Ankle Mobilization
- Toes and Tendon stretch
- Roll up - Spine Articulation
- Back and hip extension
- Hip elevations
- Single leg bicycles with a neutral spine
- Core work with modifications
